The reason was that academic Berk Esen's comments on the program "Pokta Atışı" (Dot Shot) broadcast on Sözcü TV on March 23, 2025, were the subject of the penalty: "Although we can no longer watch images of police violence on these channels due to RTÜK's pressure, we see them on the streets and on social media. Under severe police violence, not only in Saraçhane but in many regions of Türkiye, my young friends, citizens of the Republic of Turkey, who are as young as my students, are under severe violence and are resisting."
